A Post From Krissee

Hey its Krissee here. I'm going to give this blogging thing a shot. I'm not the writer Daniel is so I'm a little nervous about how to share my thoughts and be entertaining. Now that Daniel has shared a little about our blogs intention and how we met I thought I might offer a little more background on Smith and Addison.

We have always known we wanted to be parents. I have dreamed of being a mom my whole life so having children was never a question for me. When Daniel and I married we agreed to wait a year before trying because we thought it was important to have that time to ourselves. And wow did we have a great year. We took lots of vacations last year in preparation of not being able to take any for a while after we had our first child. Little did we know at the time that we would be having two.

We started trying in July of 2007 for our first child. It took 6 months. Now I know this doesn't seem like a long time to those people that have been trying for years and who have fertilty issues. To those people my heart goes out to you, it really does. 6 months to me felt like an eternity so I can't begin to imagine what some of you go through. The well meaning advice you get from everyone is to not stress about it but thats really hard to do when your hopes and dreams get crushed month after month when you see one pink test line and not two.

Anyway, Daniel and I were lucky. We found out on a Saturday night in December that we were pregnant. I had just told him that I was tired of not being pregnant, maybe something was wrong and that I thought we should give the doctor a call on Monday to talk about other options as in some type of fertility treatment. Funny how things work out, I never had to make that call.

We went to the doctor on January 14th for an ultrasound and got the shock of our lives. Twins! We certainly weren't prepared for that news but now we can't imagine having just one or even preparing for just one. We feel so blessed. A few weeks later we were also tickled to find out we were having a boy and a girl. Its no secret that I was worried about my age and whether or not we would be able to have another baby down the road so having one of each is truly an answered prayer.
Smith and Addison are doing great. At the last appointment they were weighing in at a pound and a half. Their weights were very close which is a good thing for twins. I have a doctors appointment Monday afternoon so hopefully I'll have all sorts of good stuff to post about after the visit.
I hope I didn't bore you all. With some practice I'm sure my blogging skills will improve.

A very good place to start...

Krissee and Daniel (Mom and Dad) had met each other countless times, but while always pleasant to each other, they said their hellos and went on about their business.

All that changed on September 18,2004, when they were forced to spend a few hours together at a Carolina football game.

You see, Daniel was already fairly well known to Krissee due to his work on his personal blog. Krissee had developed what one might call an "online crush." Daniel already had a real life crush on Krissee, but she only had eyes for "Uncle Sean" (isn't it funny how it all works out!)

All that changed during the football game. Jokes were made. Football was ignored. Daniel let the night get away without summoning the courage to get her phone number, but an email later to Amber (Carter's mom) and the wheels were set in motion.

Fast forward 2 years.

Welcome to our Blog!

Here we plan on sharing with you the story of Smith and Addison Day. These twin children of Krissee and Daniel Day are due to arrive on August 23rd. This will be a place to chronicle their story.

Since "Mom and Dad" both love television, we're referring to this experience as "The Smith and Addison Day Show."

(And yes, once they are actually here, you can expect a short 30 second opening credit sequence. Dork, I know.)
