So those of you who keep up with Krissee and Daniel via facebook may know that we recently bought a condo in Pawleys Island, SC. This is part of the aforementioned move.
As of today, our house in Columbia hasn't sold yet. We started weighing the pros and cons and the stress the travel was putting on both of us, and decided that it'd be smart to go ahead and buy something in Pawleys. Obviously, two mortgages ain't fun, so we opted for a condo that we found for a STEAL. Its never been lived in, and the owner just wanted out.
Here's the place from the back "yard."
This is the view from the front hallway. Behind this are two bedrooms, a bathroom, and the laundry room.

Yes, its much smaller than our current home. Yes, we will not be able to fit everything we own into this space. We know that. We're excited about that. We're simplifying. We don't plan on this being the end all be all home for us. But we're going to be here for a while. Its in the school district we want, the payments are a steal, and I think both Krissee and I are looking forward to a new place and no yard work. And a pool for the twins. And Dad home every night. And our family together in a fun and exciting new place. These are the important things.
As of now, we're hoping to close the week of July 15th, and move that weekend. If that doesn't work out, it will be mid-August before we move, due to other commitments and plans.
Now, if you know anyone who would want a great house in Columbia, SC.......

I am so happy for you guys, really! I know it will be great having dad home every night. Carter can’t wait to visit and play in the pool! That's all he's been talking about. I’m seriously thinking we might try to be your first visitors, so when do you think you’ll be settled in and ready for us?
We are going to miss you guys here in Columbia. Just know it won’t be the same here without you!
I love it!! And it comes with two adorable twins?? I wish I had found that deal! :) I can't wait to come play! I'll be there to help with the move in any way possible...just let me know what I can do! I'm glad you guys are doing it during the summer...gives me more time since I have the summer off!!
ps...sounds like the pros outweigh the cons by FAR! I'm excited for ya'll!!
It's so lovely! Very exciting! (And I'm a bit jealous that you're simplifying... we've built up quite a bit of clutter, etc. in our nine years here...)
It looks great!! Smaller than your old house, yes, but much better than an apt. I truly, truly miss my apt pool and its landscapers.....and all the money you'll be saving is all I would care about! It's way nicer than my place! I hope you can sell your house soon!!!!
Sounds like you lucked out. There's nothing wrong with simplifying--we could all use a little of that.
Is renting the Cola house an option if you can't sell? By all reports, it's quite the renter's market. Of course, that could also be a hassle you don't need.
